Juventus will unveil the plans for their new stadium this evening in Turin, and it promises to be a special occasion...

The Bianconeri will invest around €100 million in order to have a stadium which will compete with the best around Europe.

The facility will be ultra-modern, secure and open seven days a week with a state of the art shopping complex; the new venue will be built on the site where the old Stadio Delle Alpi is still standing.

Delle Alpi, which was built for the 1990 World Cup, will be demolished and Juve's new arena will be built. Work will begin in spring 2009 and everything will be ready two years later for the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

Plans will be presented at 1800CET at the Gianni Agnelli Auditorium in Turin and the pitch will be just 8.5 metres away from the stands, which is a far cry from their old venue.

Delle Alpi became infamous for its poor views of the action as the stands and pitch were seperated by a useless running track. 500 guests have been invited to the event and Italian FA chief Giancarlo Abete will be present as will Lega Calcio president Antonio Matarrese.

Juve's squad will also attend to enjoy an exclusive preview of their new home. The stadium will hold 40,700 fans and there will be 120 executive boxes. A shopping area as well as parking for 5,300 vehicles.

A Juventus museum is also planned like the one Real Madrid have at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Naming rights have been snapped up by sports marketing company Sportfive and they will be responsible for coming up with a title.

Juve will continue to play at the Olimpico grande while construction work takes place.
