Nedved's Champions League Ambition
Juventus veteran midfielder Pavel Nedved has commented on his hopes for the Bianconeri in the Champions League.
Juventus returned to the heights of the UEFA Champions League this season, and they have done incredibly well since rejoining the European elite, currently topping their group ahead of Real Madrid and UEFA Super Cup holders Zenit Saint Petersburg. Juve's last Champions League outing saw the Bianconeri beat the Merengues 2-0 in Madrid.
Alessandro Del Piero scored two fantastic goals to give Juventus the win away at the Santiago Bernabeu to put the Turin giants through to the Champions League knockout stage.
The positive run so far has excited one of the main protagonists of Juventus' season in Czech midfield star Pavel Nedved, and the former Lazio hero is keen for Champions League glory.
Nedved gave his opinion of the competition, saying: “The most important match will be in May and I hope to play. I am sure we can do well in the Champions League and I would be very happy about this, but we must be careful because it is a very difficult competition in which you cannot afford to make any mistakes.”
