Trez sets Champions League date

David Trezeguet is already looking forward to his Champions League comeback as recovery from knee surgery continues.
The Juventus star opted for an operation to strengthen the tendons after fears he would soon suffer a Ronaldo-style setback.
“The toughest moment was after the surgery, when I was immobile for 15 days and my knees were so swollen. It was hell,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I expect to be back in shape for February and my ambition this season is to win the Champions League. By beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Juve proved they are on a par with the best in Europe. It is my dream.”
Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are doing well enough without Trez, notching up seven consecutive victories and just three points off leaders Inter.
“I see Inter and Milan in pole position for the Scudetto, followed by Juventus and Lazio, then further back Fiorentina and Napoli. But don’t forget Juve always frighten the opposition, whether we are in front or chasing.
“To win the title really would be a special moment after everything we’ve been through,” he said of the Calciopoli scandal and their year in Serie B.
“It is a challenge that I, Alex Del Piero, Pavel Nedved, Gigi Buffon and Mauro Camoranesi launched when we accepted demotion. It was a wonderful madness.”
The Scudetto race is certainly more balanced than ever before, with eight teams in the space of four points going into this round.
“I like Lazio, as they can be very dangerous without the distraction of cup competition. I didn’t know Mauro Zarate, he is an incredible talent and always gets past the first man.
“Roma can get back into the Champions League places. The important thing is that Francesco Totti is on the field at all times, even if he is rooted to the spot!”
