Del Piero: "Once again Juve has proven to be the number 1"

Juventus captain Alex Del Piero kept his cool but still found it difficult to hide his emotion as he commented on the new stadium which Juventus launched today in a ceremony at the Giovanni Agnelli Auditorium in Turin’s Lingotto.

‹‹I feel emotional often. I felt emotional during the last few matches. I am feeling emotional right now before a project by which Juventus has once again proven to be the number one. ›› said the Juventus captain.

The new stadium is to be nothing but a state of the art project and Juventus the first to undertake such a huge initiative in Italy. ‹‹The project of the new stadium is unique, brave and therefore a reason to be proud for me and for all those like me who experienced what it means to play for Juventus.››

Juventus’ new home will be special not only for the supporters but also for the players who have never had the opportunity to feel so close to the fans unless playing away from home: ‹‹No more shall we envy the stadiums like those in Milan or Manchester. We will feel the supporters close to us and this will be really nice. Besides it is something to be proud of to know that the fans will not only be able to live the reality of Juventus’ home the day of the match but also during the rest of the week.››

Football is a passion and the skipper ended his comments by stating : ‹‹Everything was planned with a great passion to continue a tradition which is part and parcel with the history of Juventus of which the Agnelli family are the main pillar.››
