Ranieri sees the light

Ranieri sees the light

Claudio Ranieri said it was 3am during Juventus’ crisis, but they’re getting closer to daylight after four straight victories.

“It was darkness a while back because it was too early, but I am starting to see a few rays of sunshine,” smiled the Coach after a 2-0 triumph over Roma.

“It will finally be real daylight only when I get all my players back from injury.”

The Bianconeri had a dismal run of results and Ranieri risked the axe, but since then they have notched together wins over Real Madrid, Torino, Bologna and Roma.

“I don’t know if this was the best performance of the season. At the start we were doing very well and had won the Champions League preliminary round comfortably.

“We had a bit of a dip, perhaps some of it psychological, but now we have found our rhythm again and can recover more easily from one match to the next.”

The tactician singled out praise for Cristian Molinaro, Marco Marchionni, Zdenek Grygera and Tiago Mendes.

“I would above all like to underline Tiago’s superb performance, as in midfield he managed to get the whole team moving.

“When we are all able to remain compact like we were tonight, then we put in great performances. I must say, though, that in the opening 20 minutes we were a little distracted on long balls in and have to work on that.”
