Del Piero Set To Renew Juve Contract

Juventus stalwart Alessandro Del Piero looks set to be rewarded for his fantastic form of late, with a year extension to his current deal at the Bianconeri.

Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is wanting to renew Del Piero's contract for one more year. The Juve captain has been in stunning form this term, with his goals and assists pushing the Bianconeri on all fronts.

The loyal servant of the Turin team has been with the team since 1993, and has won the Scudetto seven times in the black and white of the club. His form with Juventus has allowed him to play an incredible 91 games for the Azzurri, and it seems that his illustrious run is still not at an end.

His stunning free-kick goal against Roma in Serie A last night put the Bianconeri on the road to a comprehensive 2-0 win against the Giallorossi, and his Champions League tally has also increased in the last few games.

Cobolli Gigli is set to offer the striker a one year extension that will see his current contract change from a 2010 end date to 2011.
