Giovinco Dedicates Goal To Juventus Fans

Giovinco Dedicates Goal To Juventus Fans

The first strike in Bianconero was undoubtedly a memorable moment for the Atomic Ant and he is still overjoyed.

Juventus edged past Lecce on Sunday and Azzurrini ace Sebastian Giovinco netted his first goal for the Old Lady at senior level.

The 21-year-old guided in a stunning free-kick and explains why he got rid of his usual celebration.

“It was a special occasion and that’s why I decided to celebrate without my typical gesture, with the hand over my head,” he revealed to Juventus Channel.

“It was an overwhelming joy and I hope it will happen a lot in the future. As soon as the ball hit the back of the net, I ran towards our supporters’ stands, because I wanted to enjoy the moment with them as they have always been close to me.”

The diminutive starlet’s father, Giovanni, is also on cloud nine and confesses that he had a feeling the ball would have flown in.

“That goal was a relief for him, but also for me,” he declared. “I consider it a huge Christmas gift. I was watching the game on TV and I was sure he would have aimed at the near post.

“At first, I thought he had narrowly missed the target, but when I realised it was in, I could barely contain myself.”
