Juventus Up The Ante For Schweinsteiger

Juventus Up The Ante For Schweinsteiger

Ein 'Schwein' Biite! Juventus directors are trying to speak German for the midfielder but will Bayern understand their request?

With Real Madrid snapping up Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Juventus have upped the ante with Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Bayern Munich man is a long-time target for the Old Lady and Tuttosport claims the club are ready to make their move in January.

Schweinsteiger was on Real Madrid's hit list but, with the Primera Division club splashing out on Huntelaar, Juve now have a clear run on their German target.

Pavel Nedved's retirement is still up in the air but the Turin-based club are getting ready just in case the former Lazio man calls it a day at the end of term.

The German international is being looked at as a replacement for the 'Czech Fury' and he could arrive in January.

'Schweini' has stated his ambition to play in Italy and the Bianconeri are expected to make a move.

If Nedved's possible retirement fails to prompt the club to make a bid, then the injury-ravaged midfield is likely to change their stance.
