Secco, Pellizzaro and Andrade come home

Secco, Pellizzaro and Andrade come home

A nice Friday at Juventus, at least under a medical point of view: good news came thick and fast today, with three welcome returns. Alessio Secco returned home (after leaving the hospital), Giorgio Pellizzaro was back in Vinovo after a month off and Jorge Andrade returned from Portugal and immediately went on the pitch for a run.

But let's see each case in more detail. Alessio Secco was discharged from Dr. Aleotti's vertebral surgery ward today; he left the hospital and made his way back home. His condition is good. Juve's Director of Sport will stay at home for another ten days or so, to recover enough so that he can resume his normal work at the Club's headquarters in Corso Galileo Ferraris.

Giorgio Pellizzaro was in Vinovo again today. The goalkeepers' coach had been missing for a month, since his heart surgery, performed by Dr. Chiara Comoglio. After the operation, carried out at Turin's Le Molinette hospital, in Dr. Rinaldi's heart surgery ward, Pellizzaro spent some time in a rehabilitation centre, which he left yesterday. He came to the sport centre this morning and met up with the rest of the staff and players again. However, it'll still be up to Claudio Maiani, the Youth Team goalkeepers' coach, to train Buffon and the others until the end of the current season.

And lastly, Jorge Andrade. The Portuguese player was examined by Juventus' doctors as scheduled. The condition of his left knee, operated on again in April, was checked. The player looked in good shape in Vinovo this morning, so much so that he immediately carried out a brief training session and ran some laps too. He will still need 6 to 8 weeks to fully recover: the time necessary to take his physical condition back to the best possible shape before the summer training camp begins in July.
