Del Piero Wants To Share Capocannoniere

Alessandro Del Piero says that he hopes to share the Capocannoniere crown with Juventus team-mate David Trezeguet.

Both Del Boy and Trez are tied at the top of the Serie A scorers charts with 19 goals, along with Genoa forward Marco Borriello.
This final weekend Juve travel to the Stadio Ferraris to play Sampdoria, while Genoa and Borriello are at Atalanta.

Del Piero has never finished top-scorer in Italy, while Trezeguet shared the honour with Dario Hubner after scoring 24 goals in 2001/02.

“I hope that we both finish level at the top,” Del Piero insisted on the Juventus Channel, when asked about the race between him and his team-mate.

“It would be great and the right way to pay tribute to our teammates and the way we play as a team.”

Meanwhile Juventus have a few selection problems going into their match in Genoa, as Mauro Camoranesi, Zdenek Grygera and Antonio Nocerino are all suspended, while Gianluigi Buffon is likely to sit out the game in order to rest his long-standing back problem ahead of Euro 2008.

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni will name his squad for Austria and Switzerland on Tuesday at 15:00 CET.
