«We feel for the Chinese people»

Ranieri: «We feel for the Chinese people»

Juventus have arrived in China to bring football and fun. But they don't forget the terrible tragedy that has befallen the Asian nation. Claudio Ranieri, who met the press alongside Pessotto and Trezeguet today, to present Thursday's game against South China, sent a clear message speaking on behalf of the whole Club: «We were struck by what happened and this is why we feel for the Chinese people». After training, the Manager reinforced the concept in an exclusive interview with Juventus Channel: «In Italy we have had similar calamities in the past, so we know very well what it means to be hit by an earthquake».

During the chat on the Juventus-themed channel, the Manager also spoke about the first game the team will be playing: «This will be a friendly against opponents who run a lot. We'll have to make the tactical aspect prevail and we'll have to stay tight. It'll also be a chance to see all the lads that have come with us. They’ll surely want to make a good impression and give a good show for the local fans, who have immediately greeted us with a lot of affection».

Juventus have turned up in Hong Kong without some of their first team regulars, and this is because of the European Championships scheduled in a few weeks' time. Ranieri took the chance to congratulate his lads who were called up to play in the tournament, particularly the Italian ones: «I'm happy about our players being called up. It’s a sign that this team is made up of great champions».
