Elkann: Ranieri A Great Coach

Juventus heir John Elkaan has given his vote of confidence to Claudio Ranieri and he believes the coach is the right man for the job

The former Chelsea boss has had a good first season in charge of the Old Lady, leading them to a top four finish, which was the club's primary objective at the start of the campaign.

Elkann is happy with what Juventus have achieved this year and he is hoping the good work continues to bare fruit.

“I am really satisfied with the games Juve has played this year, we have seen a good side score some great goals,” said Elkann.

“Ranieri is an excellent guy and a brilliant coach. He is truly a Juve-type coach because he knows how to interpret the spirit of this club.

“He (Ranieri) has put together a great side which my grandfather (Gianni Agnelli) would have been proud of because they play well and they have plenty of character.

“I hope that next year we will be able to win the Scudetto and Champions League.”

The Bianconeri play Sampdoria at Marassi this weekend and they will be hoping to finish the season on a positive note.

It will be Del Piero’s and Cassano’s last chance to convince Italy coach Roberto Donadoni regarding his 23-man squad selection for Euro 2008.
