Amauri has spoken of his pride at signing for Juventus, while Antonio Nocerino bids farewell to the Old Lady.

Months of speculation and negotiations are over as Amauri has transferred from Palermo to Juve in a highly lucrative part-exchange deal involving Nocerino and Davide Lanzafame.

“When I arrived in Italy eight years ago I had a dream – to play for a big team,” Amauri told journalists at his first Press conference this afternoon.

“Today I have realised that dream. I am happy and I want to win with Juve.

“It’s true that Milan were also interested, but Juventus were my first choice. I never had any doubt since I first heard the Bianconeri wanted me.

“Furthermore I always said that I wanted to play in the Champions League and now I want to win the Scudetto. For me this is a personal victory.”

Azzurrini midfielder Nocerino leaves Turin after a frustrating season warming the bench and is ready for a fresh start at Palermo.

“This is goodbye for me,” he said.

“I am going to Palermo and I am happy and proud with the choice because it is a big stage, an excellent squad and a great city.

“I will also be close to home, which makes me happy. I can’t wait to get started with my new shirt.

“I’m not stupid and I know that footballers come and go,” he continued.

“It was an honour to wear the Juve shirt and I am leaving on good terms and without any bitterness. I enjoyed being in Turin, but now we have gone separate way.”

Palermo sporting director Rino Foschi also stressed his satisfaction at completing the deal.

“They were difficult negotiations that started in silence and ended with great uproar,” he explained.

“In the end I am happy and I think that Amauri deserves to play for a great team like Juve.

“The transfers for Amauri and Nocerino are complete, but we are still sorting out the details for Davide Lanzafame – by July he will be a Palermo player.

“Everyone is happy with this deal – Palermo, Amauri and Juve,” he concluded.
