JUVENTUS-CATANIA 1-1 (0-0)

Del Piero shines in last home game

If one of Juventus’ objectives this Sunday was to chase the top scorer award, we could say mission accomplished. Del Piero got his 19th goal, and caught up with team mate Trezeguet (and Genoa forward Borriello) on top of the goal-scorers’ list.

Juventus honoured their League commitment in full, drawing (1-1) against Catania, who were sure to avoid relegation up to a few minutes from the end and thus the fight for Serie A survival stays open thanks to the Bianconeri. The decisive touch came from the Captain, who equalized Martinez's opener.

Del Piero “against” Trezeguet will be the theme of Juve’s last League match too, next Saturday at Sampdoria, a game that will have no meaning in terms of the final placements of the two teams.

The Bianconeri bid farewell to their fans at the Olimpico and were heartily cheered. Juve's fans must in turn be cheered for their great support, which never dwindled during the whole of this exciting 2007/08 season. And in August, the Champions League will be back in Turin!
