Chiellini Praises Juve's Character

Juventus have been struggling as of late, but came out with an important and prestigious 2-1 victory over Spanish champions Real Madrid on Tuesday evening in Champions League Group H. After the match, few were more enthusiatic than Giorgio Chiellini, who was visibly ecstatic with the win.

"We hoped (that we could win), but to believe in it is something different entriely," said the former Fiorentina player. "We sought and desired the goals, it was a great test of character."

Due to the Bianconeri's poor form, coach Claudio Ranieri was under plenty of pressure, but this result has relieved some of the tension.

"This is a victory that clears many problems," explained Chiellini, who was one of the best players on the pitch. "We were in a bad period, but now we have passed it."

Chiellini then spoke about the upcoming Turin derby on Saturday: "It's another match and our players are preparing themselves. We still have many injured players, but we will believe as we did tonight."

Midfielder Claudio Marchisio is definitely out of the match on Saturday after being substituted off in Tuesday's game. Meanwhile, Nicola Legrottaglie should be able to take part against Torino.
