Ranieri: The team are with me

Ranieri: The team are with me

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri claims he doesn't fear for his job because the dressing room is united behind him.

The pressure is rising for the Old Lady tactician after a series of poor results, culminating in last weekend's defeat at home to Palermo.

The media have been quick to suggest that Ranieri is facing the axe, but Juve's directors held a meeting with the players yesterday at Vinovo to stress their faith in the Roman boss.

“I'm not worried about the dressing room,” Ranieri claimed. “I can assure you that I have 100 per cent support and nobody is causing rows with me.

“I have a certain level of experience and the only thing that is worrying me is the number of injuries and players away on international duty.

“We had a good pre-season and the newcomers immediately settled in well - I'm very satisfied with their efforts.

“At the start of the campaign I saw a good and convincing Juve. Then after a bit we looked less secure in our management of the ball.

“We need to find our character that allowed us to get out of Serie B and I just ask the players to stick with this project, which is based on the development of youth.”

Juventus' next test after the international break is a crunch match against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo.
