Luka Modric

Secco To Table €38m Bid For Spurs Flop Modric

Juventus are looking to make a move for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric in an attempt to bring some quality into their midfield, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport...

The Bianconeri, like Spurs in the Premier League, have been struggling badly in Serie A. Many of their problems have stemmed from the lack of bright sparks in midfield.

Sporting director Alessio Secco has already looked at a few players based in England including Liverpool's Xabi Alonso but the alarm bells are ringing from White Hart Lane as Modric has failed to make an impact following his £16m move from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer.

Secco is a keen admirer of the Croatian international and he is about to put his foot in it again as he is prepared to splash a massive €38m on the midfielder.

Fans are already unhappy at the director's wheeling and dealing and this latest news is likely to cause outrage amongst die-hard Bianconeri who, for that money, would rather see players like Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard arrive at Vinovo.

It seems as if Claudio Ranieri has no say in that matter, with Secco doing as he pleases with the Old Lady's purse and pension.
