Ranieri Explains Buffon Blast

Ranieri Explains Buffon Blast

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has spoken about the problems which have crippled the club. He reveals that Gianluigi Buffon was furious in the dressing room during the Palermo game and believes Sebastian Giovinco is the 'new' Gianfranco Zola...

The Old Lady has not been enjoying the early part of the season as a less than perfect start has left the club languishing in mid-table and has caused the Skeptics to shoot Ranieri and his side down.

However, the 'Tinkerman' believes the team needs to work harder and follow the examples set by a few of the players who have been at the club for several years.

"Buffon was really angry inside the dressing room against Palermo. He started shouting and screaming and he said: 'This shirt is heavy, if you can't manage to carry it on your shoulders then don't even walk out onto the pitch,' " Ranieri told Tuttosport.

"I have showed the team a DVD of David Trezeguet so the other strikers can see his movements and the work he puts in for the team. He doesn't just score but he dedicates himself to help the team and he even defends."

The coach then had some words on some of the players who have been enjoying mixed fortunes so far.

"Giovinco? I think he will be a winning bet like Zola was at Napoli," added the coach.

"Christian Molinaro has been suffering some whistles from the crowd where as Paolo De Ceglie has not settled down properly in defence.

"Chiellini? He's an added Captain."

Ranieri will be hoping his side improve during the international break as they travel to a tricky Napoli side next weekend and any further slip ups could mean further trouble at the club.
