Nocerino Agrees Palermo Move

Nocerino Agrees Palermo Move

Juventus midfielder Antonio Nocerino has given his consent to a move to Palermo, but according to his agent he is also interested in signing for Napoli.

The 23-year-old Nocerino has played more games this season for Juve in Serie A than any other midfielder, and indeed David Trezeguet and Alex Del Piero are the only outfield players to have made more appearances.

Despite a fine start to the season, which saw him debut for the Italy national team, Nocerino has largely struggled in 2008 following the arrival of Momo Sissoko from Liverpool.

The hardworking schemer is almost certain to leave in the summer, and he has been widely tipped by the Italian press to join Palermo as part of the deal that will see Amauri move to Turin.

"The player has already expressed his approval to go back to play in Sicily,” revealed Nocerino’s agent Alessandro Moggi.

"Nocerino is up for sale and apart from Palermo, there are other clubs. He has admitted he'd like to play for Napoli."

Nocerino was born in Napoli, however the club’s transfer chief Pierpaolo Marino confessed earlier this week that it was almost certain he would be signing for Palermo.

“At Juventus I like Nocerino,” the transfer guru told Tutttopsort.

“But I think there is nothing more to do – he will join Palermo.”
