Amauri is '98 per cent Juve'
Tuesday 6 May, 2008
Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has stated that star striker Amauri is on the cusp of becoming a Juventus player.
Amauri has stated that he is “91 per cent Juve” and has stressed his desire to join the Old Lady at the end of the current campaign.
However, the Brazilian’s transfer has become something of a saga in recent weeks after he suggested that he could consider joining Milan or Roma and talks over personal terms in Turin were unsuccessful.
But today it seems that a deal is inevitable and the former Chievo man will be wearing the Bianconeri jersey next year.
“It’s almost done – we are very close to completion of the deal,” Zamparini told journalists.
“We are working out the final details and we are all very optimistic. There is a 98 per cent chance that Amauri will join Juve.
“Not much depends on Palermo now. It’s down to the Old Lady to work out terms with the player and I would expect that to happen soon.”
Juve are expected to offer a player in part-exchange for Amauri, but it doesn’t seem likely that unsettled forward Raffaele Palladino will be the man in question.
“He doesn’t want to come to Palermo,” Zamparini revealed. “He’s a bit like everyone else who doesn’t know the place and its beauty.
