Juve admit Alonso interest
Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has underlined the club's desire to sign Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
The 26-year-old Spanish international has been repeatedly linked with the Bianconeri as they look to bolster the squad ahead of next season.
“I cannot deny that he interests us, but there is always a problem,” stated the Old Lady chief.
Alonso's agent Inaki Ibanez is believed to have been in Turin this morning to iron out a deal.
The Italian Press has reported that the Anfield star is prepared to accept a four-year contract worth £2.7m a season.
“We want value for money and he costs too much. Our director general Jean-Claude Blanc is working on it,” explained Cobolli Gigli
Liverpool are said to want £19m for the Champions League winner, who has been central to the Reds since joining the club four years ago.
Juventus have had a number of problems in the middle this season after last year's signings Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron failed to make the grade.
