Platini Full Of Praise For Old Lady
UEFA president and former Juventus great Michel Platini has hailed the Bianconeri’s excellent season following their return from Serie B.
Le Roy played for the Bianconeri between 1982 and 1987 and he won the 1985 European Cup for his side, scoring the penalty which sealed the silverware on that tragic night in Heysel against Liverpool.
The chief took time from his busy Schedule in Moscow ahead of the Champions League final on Wednesday to spare a few words for the Old Lady.
“Apart from their third place finish, Juventus has obtained dignity following everything which happened to them,” said Platini.
“They (Juventus) went to Serie B and had to start off from scratch without asking anyone for assistance.
“They have been very good, they admitted their mistakes and they restarted from nothing after having lost some many important players.”
The Bianconeri will be hoping to go far in next season’s competition and they are currently in the process of adding reinforcements to the team in light of their European adventures next term.
