Ranieri Eyes Champions League Qualification

Ranieri Eyes Champions League Qualification

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri believes his side still need to work hard as, according to the Tinkerman, they have not reached the Champions League just yet.

The Bianconeri blew their chances of reaching second place when they were beaten by Siena on Sunday.

Third place has been consolidated but Ranieri insists that the hard work will begin in the summer when Juve play in the preliminary rounds to try and qualify for the Champions League group stages.

“Now, the most important thing is to get in the Champions League because at the moment we are only in the prelimanaries,” said the former Chelsea man.

“The first objective of the new season will be to get through to the group stages by getting past the preliminary rounds.

“This will be a new Juventus in Europe, it will not be the same as the last one.

“Of course there will be many players who will know some of our players but not all of them.

“Those players will get to know this team and for us it will be important to show everyone that we can do well.

“Next season will be a year where we move up to the next level.”
