Nedved keeps Juve waiting

Nedved keeps Juve waiting

Juventus veteran Pavel Nedved still hasn’t decided whether he will hang his boots up at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old winger has made over 200 appearances for the Old Lady since arriving from Lazio in 2001.

He may be getting a little long in the tooth, but Nedved remains a key figure for Juve and the club have made it clear that they hope he will stay on for a final year.

However, there have also been potentially lucrative approaches from Japanese sides Jubilo Iwata and FC Tokyo and there is the possibility that Nedved could call it a day.

“I haven’t decided my future yet. We will have to see,” the Czech Republic star admitted on Sky Sport Italia.

“I have a couple more weeks to think until I need to make a decision and it is an important choice.

“All I can say is that it has always been a great honour to play for Juventus. I have really enjoyed these years in the Bianconeri shirt.”

Juve sporting director Alessio Secco is expected to search for a long-term replacement for Nedved this summer with Napoli’s Marek Hamsik, Roma wizard Amantino Mancini and Palermo starlet Bosko Jankovic reportedly in the frame.
