Amauri: Juve Wanted Me More Than Milan
Juventus striker Carvalho Amauri has discussed his move to the Bianconeri in the summer, insisting that the club showed more interest than his other suitors, AC Milan.
Carvalho Amauri scored 15 goals in Serie A for Palermo last season and was by far the team's most influential player. During the summer, though, the Brazilian striker transferred to Juventus to further his career at one of the bigger clubs, with Champions League football an important factor in his move to the Bianconeri.
Juventus were not the only club to show interest in the Brazilian-born striker, with other European teams attempting to take him off the books of the Rosaneri, including Carlo Ancelotti's Milan.
The Rossoneri were involved in the final transfer battle with Juve to see where the player wanted to go. Amauri duly chose Turin over Milan and he has not looked back since, starting the campaign off well and scoring for Juve on all fronts.
Regarding his decision to choose Juventus over Milan, the player explained, “Talking about the market, I can say that Juve is the team that wanted me more.
“My transfer had Milan interested too, but they did not try as hard as Juventus to get me. Juve wanted me more, and they were talking about me since January, showing me that they truly wanted me.”
