The Old Lady are looking to patch up the gaps around the pitch in the new year and Jean Claude Blanc has promised reinforcements.
Barcelona's Yaya Toure was on the list but now Schweinsteiger has been added as an alternative.
Sportmediaset claims the German international is unhappy at being left out at Bayern and he is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga club.
Juventus have taken note and they are now ready to move in and pounce for the midfielder. Schweinsteiger's contract expires in 2009 and thus Juve would be able to land him on a free transfer, which is the direction the club want to move in, given plans for their new stadium and the tight budget coach Claudio Ranieri has at his disposal.
The midfielder also comes with the versatility of playing on the left or right and this is likely to appeal to the 'Tinkerman'.
Reports suggest the Italian giants are ready to offer the player a five year deal worth €3.5m per season.
Juventus are missing something extra in midfield and they have come under heavy fire for the lack of top-quality signings which arrived in the summer.
