Sebastian Giovinco extends contract to 2013
Sebastian Giovinco extends contract to 2013
This morning, at the Club's headquarters in Corso Galileo Ferraris, the last details concerning Sebastian Giovinco's new contract were defined. The player, accompanied by his agents, met with Managing Director Jean-Claude Blanc and Director of Sport Alessio Secco. The agreement signed today extends Sebastian Giovinco's contract with Juventus up until June 30 2013.
Due to this extension, the player, who grew up at the Club, currently has the longest contract in the team alongside team mates Buffon, Chiellini and Sissoko.
«Today's agreement – Director of Sport Alessio Secco declared – is the final act of a serious and fair negotiation. A good compromise between Juventus' interests and the player's expectations was found and I believe that both parties ought to be pleased. This extension is in line with our aim of putting young elements in the team, but high quality ones. Now let's all concentrate on doing well, starting from tomorrow night».
The player was enthusiastic too: «I'm happy to wear the black and white jersey for the next five years and I hope I can stay here even longer. I'm from Turin, I've always been a Juve fan and, apart from last season, I've always played here. I started out at Juventus when I was 8 and today, with this agreement, a new phase of my career begins: my responsibilities increase, as do expectations about me. Now I have to apply myself and try to make the Club and the fans, whom I’ve always felt very close to me, happy».
